In traditional TV, content was delivered from a broadcaster to an audience in a single monodirectional way. However, the rise of collaborative videogames has shown that in certain demographics, the consumption of entertainment is augmented, enriched, and dramatized due to the social interaction amongst players. The rise of social media and new technologies such as social TV, Second Screen, and Interactive TV are offering viewers across different geographies and demographics an opportunity to consume entertainment in a new way. Now for the first time, viewers and players can cooperate, interact with the content creators, interact with each other, and exploit the moment in order to generate social interactions.
